Our Roots in Umreth, GUJARAT
Nestled in the heart of Gujarat, Umreth is not just our home; it’s a place steeped in history and tradition. This picturesque town has a deep-rooted Brahmin heritage that dates back centuries. Umreth’s landscapes have witnessed the rituals, prayers, and cultural expressions of generations of Brahmin families, including ours.
A Legacy of Brahmin History
Umreth’s Brahmin community has played a pivotal role in preserving and passing down ancient traditions, scriptures, and wisdom. The town’s very fabric is woven with the threads of spirituality, learning, and reverence. Our family, The Joshis, has been an integral part of this vibrant tapestry.
Ankit Joshi's Journey:
Among us, Ankit Joshi, the youngest scion, embarked on a unique path. He ventured to London, where he delved into the world of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) export. His career thrived, and he became a seasoned entrepreneur, exporting British products to various parts of the world. His deep understanding of international markets and a passion for quality made him a respected name in the FMCG industry.
The Divine Calling
Despite his successful journey in FMCG export, Ankit’s connection to his roots remained strong. Memories of his grandmother Madhu Joshi‘s recipes and the flavours of Umreth often filled his thoughts. It was during one such moment of nostalgia that Ankit had a divine calling. He realized that he could share the culinary traditions of Umreth’s Brahmin community with the world.
The Birth of "UMRETHWALA JOSHIJI"
With blessings from his mother, Bina Joshi, who lovingly upheld the family’s traditions after the passing of Ankit’s grandmother. Ankit was inspired to return to India & he sought to create “ UMRETHWALA JOSHIJI,” a brand that would not only honour Umreth’s rich heritage but also share it with the world.
A Family Endeavour
In this journey, Ankit is not alone. His father, Ashwin Joshi, plays a pivotal role in handling the Indian business operations. With his experience and expertise, he ensures that the authenticity and quality of “ UMRETHWALA JOSHIJI” are maintained to the highest standards.
Ankit’s wife, Archana Joshi, is a key pillar in this endeavour, assisting him in managing the UK business operations. Together, they bring the flavours and traditions of Umreth to Indian families living abroad, sharing the legacy of “ UMRETHWALA JOSHIJI” with the world.
